I initially drew this on the occasion of the Queen’s 95th birthday, where I depict her throwing a very jolly tea party, which also happens to be #NationalTeaDay, and has invited two of her birthday buddies, Charlotte Brontë and James McAvoy (who decided to come dressed as his notable character, Mr Tumnus — now he can say he’s had tea with two queens and an author!). I love finding out when famous people have birthdays, and having these three all share it together on National Tea Day just made sense and a commemorative piece of art had to be made.
