Basler Rathaus

One of the things I grew up with in Germany and Switzerland were the Christmas markets. My family and I loved going to the one in Basel which was held mainly in the Marktplatz (market place) right in front of the awe inspiring red Rathaus (RAHT-house, meaning town hall). Inside the little courtyard there always was a tall, decorated Christmas tree. I am happy I made this piece as it reminds me of those days and this beautiful little city in Switzerland, and I am really glad to be living right in Basel now and get to call this my hometown.

If you or a friend needs a little Christmas market atmosphere to come to them, go to either one of my shops and order a gift with this painting!
